Get Some Exercise

Physical activity has clear psychological benefits.  This is particularly true with regard to our emotional well-being, as it is known that exercise elevates mood.

The trick with anger, though, is that it is not usually a good idea to exercise when you are angry, as it can exacerbate the physiological consequences of the anger (much like you wouldn’t think that going for a run when you are scared is a good way to calm down and relax).

Instead, taking time to exercise regularly rather than in response to anger can help elevate mood in the long run and decreases the likelihood of experiencing problematic anger.
